What Event Logs are we looking for?

The data in the Event Log we are looking for should at least contain:

The event logs should at least contain:

  • A unique case identifier (unique number of the handled case, for instance a patient or a received invoice)
  • The name of the executed activity
  • A timestamp (date and time when the activity was executed in the format dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm)

Please remember, the complete history of each individual case is necessary; the current status alone is insufficient.

With the application of process mining techniques, it becomes possible to automatically transform data into information that makes sense to you in a process-oriented way. It will give you the answers you’ve always wanted to have. 

Event Logs: where do they come from?

An Event Log can come from any kind of system in any kind of business or public environment. This means that eventlogs from spreadsheet programs, ERP systems, Workflow systems, CRM systems and even your own developed information system are all suitable if they log the required data.
