HEROLD Optimizes Order to Cash Process in just a few days with Pallas Athena
PrintInnovative process mining technology reproduces business processes within a short time
The automatic process mining technology of Pallas Athena, the leading provider of business process management solutions (BPM), headquartered in the Netherlands, generated a precise analysis of the order to cash processes at HEROLD Business Data, the Austrian telephone book and Yellow Pages publisher, within a few days. ProcessGold, Pallas Athena’s consulting and implementation partner, delivered a fast and efficient analysis with the process mining tool and detected inefficiencies in order processing within a very short time; it also derived operation recommendations.
As the leading publisher of address reference books for business and private use, HEROLD manages a multitude of data records. Approximately 500 orders are processed daily by the employees. An efficient order to cash process is essential to handle this volume of orders. As part of its strategic process improvement initiative, HEROLD decided on Pallas Athena’s novel process mining technology and ordered ProcessGold with the analysis.
“The process mining approach is very innovative and persuasive. The data available in the company is used for process analysis and simulation without impacting day-to-day business,” said Frank Bieser, CIO at HEROLD Business Data, justifying the decision. With Pallas Athena’s processing mining technology, ProcessGold created a detailed process model in a short period of time on the basis of log files of existing IT systems. Not only was the core process taken into account, but also all exceptions and process variants. Conventional analyses by means of workshops and interviews that sometimes take weeks were consequently superfluous.
“The utilization of process mining paid off for us because we were able to analyze, understand, and improve the existing processes significantly faster than with the typical process analysis methods. The fact that we received realizable process improvement measures immediately after the analysis inspired us,” said Frank Bieser happily.
HEROLD also plans on relying on Pallas Athena in the future to secure the quality of their business processes, said Frank Bieser. “We plan on using Pallas Athena technology in the future for permanent process performance measurement in order to implement a continuous improvement process.”
