Job description

• Review functional and technical designs.
• Create and maintain test plans, test specifications and reports.
• Execute test specifications and record results.
• Discuss specifications and results with developers.
• Advise on risks and persuade on necessary actions.
• Knowledge owner of some of our product components.
• Apply and create automated tests using test tools and test scripts.
• Work closely with various teams in the organisation including Product Management, Learning Solutions and Customer Support.
• Occasionally arrange and perform tests at customer sites (The Netherlands and Germany).

Responsibilities

Find efficient approach on testing software, aiming to optimize the quality of the product and the work process. Work in teams or individually for our development colleagues in Apeldoorn and Germany. Use various levels of testing to achieve optimal test coverage. Compare and verify functional requirements against the end product and strive for customer involvement. Be able to switch between short and long term projects. Share knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements

• Higher Vocational Education direction IT.
• 3 years of experience as test engineer, preferably ISTQB certified.
• Knowledge of test standards (TMap, etc.) and how to apply them.
• Quality minded, analytical, independent.
• Knowledge of programming languages and relational databases (C, JAVA, Oracle, SQL server).
• Excellent communicative and written skills (English and Dutch), German is an advantage.
• Creative, dedicated, result driven and team player.
• Available for at least 36 hours a week.

Testing for Pallas Athena is an exciting and challenging job. In our relatively small technology group, the role of a tester is versatile. As member of our test team you are responsible for the quality in various ways. Early in the project you will be reviewing functionality and during the test phase you will guard the implementation. We execute the tests manually or with test tools in our own testing environment. We interact with colleagues of other departments besides development to distribute the knowledge within the organisation. In case of major releases we involve our customers via test days and/or beta tests.
